Jerrys Plains Public School's (JPPS) Cattle Judging Team put in an outstanding performance when they visited the Stocklands Newcastle Regional Show on Friday 26 th March 2010. The 8 students from Years 3,4 & 5 brought home a swag of awards in the Junior Cattle Judging Competition.
Most students in this team do not come from a farming background but have worked hard in this area to be able to judge very precisely 3 classes of cattle in line with structural, functional and written criteria. Five of the JPPS team, earned the opportunity to orally present to the crowd their reasons for placing the Heifer class, as they did. Three of the students had never performed like this in public before.
Below are the results achieved by Jerrys Plains Public School on the day.Individual Judging Competition
1 st Alexandria Barnes
2 nd Lillian Mills
3 rd Amber Cook
